About

“Adrian, put those dogs down and come wash your hands!”

                                                                        – my mother

As far back as I can remember, I’ve loved dogs. They are some of my closest friends.

I used to think maybe it was because I was born in the Chinese Year of the Dog. But now I know it’s because dogs seem to have life all figured out, and they can show us a simpler path to happiness if we just pay attention.

That’s what my three dogs did for me.

Before discovering my passion for photography, I was an artist working in several mediums from music to filmmaking. Despite having successful careers in both, I often had the feeling that something was missing.

Every night after work I’d watch my dogs—Momo, Toto, and Jett—running and playing with unbridled joy, and secretly wish that I could harness that same carefree delight within my own work.

It wasn’t until I started snapping photos of the dogs at play that I began to experience the passion and excitement I’d been looking for, and that had eluded me for years.

If only I had their keen powers of smell, I would have realized that the answer to my happiness was right under my nose all this time!

Thanks pups, for showing me the way.

TOTO is named after the famous dog from the Wizard of Oz.
He’s also the ‘big boss’ of the house. Well, at least he thinks he’s the biggest (he’s actually the smallest one… but don’t tell him that). Toto is a doggedly determined hunter and a real social butterfly, able to win over anyone who meets him with his sweet and gentle personality. But I’ll give you a tip: if you want to win him over, all it takes is a puff of warm breath onto his neck and he’ll be yours forever.

MOMO is the spoiled child of the family and Toto’s best friend. Now, he’s one big fella, but despite this, he allows Toto to climb on top of him by laying down. It’s very endearing to watch them play. Nature gifted him with huge, webbed paws which makes him a great swimmer.

He loves water more than anything and he enjoys weekend walks and swims in the ocean. If you meet him for the first time you might get intimidated by his size and assertive bark (he’s a mere 96-pounds!), but once he gets to know you, he turns into a big, loving, gentle bear.

JETT is a real sprightly character. He’s our rescue puppy whose life’s motto is: Eat. Sleep. Walk. Love Me. Repeat. He’ll be first to wake me up in the morning, just to make sure I don’t forget him when I go out walking. He’s a mischievous, cheeky troublemaker and the one who gets away with pretty much anything. Look at this photo! It’s Jett’s true nature captured in a million pixels.

I had a great experience with Adrian Grand Photography. He did an amazing job during our photoshoot and was extremely professional and caring. Our photos turned out gorgeous, leaving us with an everlasting memory of my beloved pups Stewy and Bandit.
